The Velvet Underground & Nico

The Velvet Underground & Nico album was released in 1967 . It is the soundtrack to 1960's New York and Andy Warhol's Factory. This album shows the dark and gritty streets of New York City. It talks about drug dealers, S&M and heroin. It's in complete contrast to the 1960's Sunny California flower Power. The album has first class Andy Warhol production. And to Warhol's request The Velvet Underground added vocals by German model Nico on three standout cuts off the album. Warhol also designed the album cover, so that the banana can peel off. Today The Velvet Underground and Nico is regarded as one of the best albums of the 1960's. And is considers the first Alternative rock album and the blue print to Punk Rock. Enjoy!
